Theology of the Body
The most recent form of classroom sex education
A man called Christiopher West studied at the Pope John Paul II Marriage and the Family Institute in Washing, D.C. West became fascinated with Pope John Paul II’s writings and speeches on human sexuality, commonly called, “Theology of the Body.” He developed a theory of the Pope’s teachings which are distorted. West has created for himself a career on this subject, with lectures and retreats and courses for everone from kids to sex ed teachers. He has been roundly criticized by Veil of Innocence, Dr. Alice von Hildebrand, and even his own teachers. He also has been widely praised by noted teachers and even bishops. His major weakness is that he never grasped the von Hildebrand notions of reverence- of reserve and mystery when approaching the sexual sphere. Dietrich von Hildebrand says that the mystery of human sexuality is a mystery of the Divinity- true- but also it is a mystery of iniquity. West misses that.
